Perm’s 290th anniversary celebration will start at night
Town Day celebration will start on June 11, as stated by the city department of culture and youth policy. An anniversary edition of the “Perm. From the beginning to our days” book will be presented, and a gala concert “Happy Birthday, Perm!”, dedicated to the city’s 290th anniversary, will take place at the Soldatov’s civic center a day before the Town Day. New monument of a radio inventor A. Popov will be presented, and a newly built viewpoint at the Perm Planetarium will be opened. Historical photo-exhibition “Mine and yours Perm city” will be shown at the theatre square.
“Town Day Celebration” program will start at 11p.m at the Tatishev Square with a historical carnival. The main celebration will start from 12pm on June 12 with a parade. This year parade will march down the Lenin Street (from Dzerzhinsky Square to the assembly) to the “White Nights” festival site. Everyone can put on a costume and join the parade. More than 1800 participants are expected”, - said Vyacheslav Torchinsky, the head of department of culture and youth policy. Public transportation will be limited for reasons of safety.
Children festival will begin right after the parade at the square before the Theatre-Theatre. The evening program will start with a “San-Remo songs in Perm” concert, with more than 60 musicians from Italy and some on-stage performance groups from Perm as participants.
The Town Day firework has been an annual tradition for Perm, and this year is no different. The firework is granted to the city by the Research Institute for Polymer Materials and will take place at the “Red Barracks”.
2000 employees of private security companies would provide safety and security for guests, informed the department of public safety.
